Aunty Jan, always used to deal with my rebellion for school as a child, every morning she would walk me to school and wait there and comfort me until I felt it was ok to go into the class (as I kicked and screamed). Along with the picknics and bike rides. You will always and forever be in my heart and memories 🙏🏿

You always made me feel at home - part of the family. One school lunch time, when I was about 14, Dee invited me back to The Don for lunch. I remember Selina and Linton were there. It was one big, happy family, everyone sat around the dining room table together. It became a regular thing, most Thursday lunch times, I'd join you all. A couple of times I forgot my lunch, but you'd always have spare sandwiches I could share. And you always made me feel like nothing was too much trouble. I was always made to feel welcome. Nearly 40 years on, I will always remember your kind, calm and accepting nature. Dee's Mum (because Jan was always too formal!) may you rest peacefully, knowing what a difference you made, just by being you.
